Why We Care
Lord Howe Island is more than just a destination; it’s a living sanctuary. With over 500 species of fish, 90 species of coral, and countless rare and endemic creatures, this island’s waters are among the richest in biodiversity anywhere on Earth.
But like all natural wonders, this paradise is fragile. Rising sea temperatures, coral bleaching, pollution, and human impact threaten its future. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to protect the reef we love—through our operations, our education, and our promise to you.
We care deeply because we live here. We dive these reefs daily. We see the changes, the beauty, and the importance of keeping this ecosystem healthy for generations to come.
What We Do
Here’s how we make every dive eco friendly:
- Low impact diving practices – We brief every diver on reef safe techniques and buoyancy control to avoid damage to coral and marine life.
- Eco friendly gear & operations – Our boats are fuel efficient, well maintained, and operated to reduce emissions and ocean noise pollution.
- Reef safe sunscreen only – We encourage all our guests to use biodegradable, reef safe sunscreen to protect marine life.
- Waste free policy – No single use plastics on board. We use refillable water bottles, reusable containers, and encourage BYO eco gear.
- Education & awareness – Every dive is an opportunity to inspire. Our guides share local knowledge about marine life, ecology, and conservation tips.
- Support for marine science – We actively support local conservation programs and participate in reef monitoring and citizen science initiatives.
